Westfourstreet Appear on MKFM
This time however, we were beaming with pride when we were invited in for an interview by our local Milton Keynes based radio station, MKFM. Along side us for the interview was local photographer, Gill Prince who is spear-heading the MK50 Photography Book project. Now aptly named ‘Unexpected MK’.
The interview took place yesterday (October 3rd) and it was to promote the upcoming book and hopefully to drum up some further sponsorship.
Inside MKFM’s very cool studio (see the pictures below) we discussed our reasons why we, as a local business decided to sponsor the book and lend our financial support to such a creative and exciting project.
You may remember back in June that we announced our sponsorship of the MK50 Photography Project. The project was launched as part of the 50th anniversary of our local city, Milton Keynes. The book itself will feature 50 urban, landscape and architectural images of Milton Keynes as it is today and have all been shot and selected by Gill.
The photos to be featured in the book will no doubt surprise many people and that’s really the aim. For many people, when they think of Milton Keynes they’ll mention the concrete cows and roundabouts. But scratch the surface and you’ll find that there are so many amazing and beautiful areas of interest in the city – it truly is ‘unexpected’.
During the interview our founder & director, Richard Bateman was asked why westfourstreet sponsored the book.
Coming from a design background, and it’s what we do as a business, it made sense to give that kind of support for a project which will be celebrating 50 years of Milton Keynes – it seemed like the right kind of thing to do.
So When Is The Book Out?
Well, we’re lucky you see. As sponsors we get copies of the book first and if you’re a client of ours, there is a high chance you’ll have a gift wrapped copy of the book from us as a Christmas present in early December. However, it will be published in December – just in time for the start of the birthday celebrations in early 2017.
Being a creative company it fills us with pride to support a project which promotes Milton Keynes in such a creative and visual way. You can listen to the interview online now. Available for the next 7-days and it’s the ‘Morning Show’ from Tuesday.
